AspectPL’s MES Software Plant PLC gets Smarter April 2020
If you are installing AspectPL MES software in your manufacturing business you will also be installing the latest in automation control to manage the plant interface.
Technology has improved the interface between plant and software. AspectPT has replaced the traditional PLC with high tech German built, Beckhoff Embedded PC Automation Controllers.
The new AspectPL Beckhoff controller is bigger and better in all the right ways. Its memory is mightier, its engine more powerful – yet this Beckhoff controller is sleeker and more economical.
A traditional PLC has just a few MB of memory yet the Beckoff Embedded Controller’s memory starts at 500MB. The Beckoff Embedded Controller improves the plant interface which assists with industry 4.0 objectives.
Machine connectivity is supported with EtherCAT an extremely high speed Ethernet network while retaining the more traditional network platforms such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet I/P, I/O link, DeviceNet and hard wired machines.
Digitisation is the future of smart manufacturing. AspectPL MES software and new Beckoff Embedded Controllers can help your manufacturing business get industry 4.0 ready.

AspectPT at National Manufacturing Week (NMW) 2017
During the second week of May, AspectPT exhibited at NMW 2017 in Melbourne. NMW is Australia’s premier manufacturing exhibition and the only fully-integrated annual event. It showcases the latest products and evolving technologies in the expanding manufacturing market.
With over 10,000 attendees visiting during the four days, we happy to have our hands full. We had the pleasure of meeting a wide range of prospects and fellow-exhibitors from a variety of countries. This included the Middle East, China and other parts of Asia, and of course, we caught up with many old faces from Australia and New Zealand.
Needless to say, we demonstrated the latest AspectPL software to a significant number of ‘plastics and packaging’ operators, and it was very well-received. Interestingly, there were also a number of enquiries from ‘non-plastics’ sectors, the likes of CNC machinery and engineering businesses looking for advanced production scheduling software and support for monitoring assembly stations and manual work centres.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at NMW 2017, and we’re looking forward to next year’s show.
